Housing sector braced for huge cuts in spending review

Housing minister Grant Shapps is reported to have told delegates at the Conservative Party conference earlier this month that the housing sector needed to “prepare for the worst” in the 20 October Comprehensive Spending Review. He said: “The spending review is going to be tough. I mean really tough.” If press reports over the weekend are to be believed, Shapps was not exaggerating. Read more »
